Hi all I am new here and really struggling, I am from Australia and am holidaying in London at the moment , I have an I pad 3 g which I use at home without a sim on my home wifi. I bought a micro sim yesterday from " three" which was supposed to work instantly I installed the sim, well I can't get it registered, it asks for the mob no and then another no which I have done, then it said it will text my password to me, how can I get a text on an I pad? Sorry to be so thick! Also it suggested I download the 3 app, but when I tried to do the uk one it said it was an Aussie device and to use the Aussie store, problem is they don't have 3 on the Aussiestore, confused?? Me too, but is an Aussie I pad unable to be used in the uk??

Hi there and welcome, we have had issues before with setting up 3, even on UK iPads but fear not, if you call their help line (I assume it is available at weekends) they are very good at getting things sorted out......if the helpline isn't available (I'll go look shortly) then pop into one of their stores, they have plenty in London.

EDIT: I couldn't find their opening hours for support but try calling them, you'll soon find out.

Thanks for that, I will go back to the shop, and thanks for your quick response! I am glad others have had issues too! I thought I was going mad, I have never had a sim in this pad as I only use it at home e with our wireless setup

If for any reason they can't get it to work then you might want to exchange it for their myfi mobile hotspot, a little more expensive but it comes preloaded with data and puts out a wifi signal (I use one so I know it works).....at the end of your stay you can probably sell it to another Aussie (There are more in London right now than there are back in Aus) or take it in to a shop like Cash Converters and get some money back on it.

It looks like you're getting sorted out.

Enjoy your stay in London Junecam :)

Welcome to you both and yeah, f4780y is pretty cool with those tutorials he does.
