iPad 2 not syncing with iTunes?

Hi guys, I just got an iPad 2 running iOS 5.0.1 jailbroken with Absinthe 0.4 and when I plug it into iTunes to sync some apps the apply button in the bottom right hand corner doesn't work. Any ideas on how to fix this problem because I would like to be able to sync and not have to use the wifi sync.

Open iTunes and plug in your iPad. Under Devices you will see your iPad. Right click and try to sync from there or click File at the top left and try that sync

I tried that but all the sync buttons are "faded" and when I try to back up it works at the top for a second and then it just stops and leaves my iPad unchanged

Lets try a hard reset. Press both the Home and Power buttons at the same time till the iPad shuts off. May have to hold them down for 10 seconds or more

Also, there is an iTunes update. Have you updated iTunes ?

I did get iTunes 10.6 ilL try the hard reset and see if that works.

You say the "Apply" button is greyed out? That is normal. The "Apply" button only activates when you make a change, by for example ticking or unticking and app or moving it between pages in iTunes itself. If you see the Apply button you likely have the wrong tab open in iTunes. If you switch back to the first tab, which has the general device information on it, the button should say "Sync" and that should be active. Press that to sync.

The sync button is also "greyed out" and even when I make the changes the button doesn't change and also when I go into the file in the menu bar it says sync iPod not iPad and it is also "greyed out"

Sounds like there may be a fault with the cable, particularly if wifi-sync works just fine like you said. It's not unusual for one or two connections on the 30 pins to give up after a while, which can produce unpredictable results. Maybe try another cable?

I'm just going to restore to 5.1 and wait for a jailbreak but thanks for all the help.

wondering if anyone has come up with a solution for this.

I have the same issue when I plug in the Ipad 2, its says 'sync ipod' but its greyed out.

using the same cable i plug in my iphone 4 and it works just fine. it says 'cold4ire's iphone' and i can sync it.

The ipad 2 is on 5.0.1 jailbroken with absinthe 0.4.

I am also having the same problem and the really annoying thing is I am not able to put any songs videos or anything on my ipad from my laptop all it says is some unknown error has occurred (-54)

Sometimes it is a tweak that blocks sync with iTunes. I had a similar problem and uninstalled the tweaks and the pad synced again.
