Why do some tap here buttons not work

Last night I complained quirky problems so today I provide you with a prime example. This morning I tried to enter a legimate contest on a very respected audio video web site. All I had to do was tap the "Enter Here" icon. Nothing happened! Why oh why does such a simple action like this and numerous others not function on iPad Air 2?

Are you sure the "Enter Here" was a link. If it's the same competition I already entered, the image is not a link.

Thank you correcting me Kevin. I was the one not operating correctly.

No problem. Other people on the forum had noted that what appeared to be a link, in fact, was not. It was an easy mistake to make. I entered the competition on my Mac, and noticed that the mouse pointer did not change when I moused over the "button". That's when I went hunting for the actual link, because a free pair of SVS speakers is worth having.
