What's new

What is it?

It's not a Bunn Special, but a 19 jewel Bunn. You've correctly identified this dial as belonging to a railroad watch but I still need the name of this style of dial.

This type of watch dial was originally developed for the Santa Fe Railroad by its chief watch and clock inspector in the early 20th century.

Hi Scifan, is the dial called a 24 hour Bunn special series gothic railroad dial?

No,that's not the name of the dial. This dial is from a regular Bunn railroad watch, not a Bunn Special.
This style of watch dial was named after the Santa Fe Railroad watch and clock inspector who invented it in the early 20th century.

OK, too much detail from a lay googler. Is it a 24 hour gothic Illinois dial? Also, is it a Montgomery design dial?

It's not stained glass, and it isn't a lampshade. The photograph is sharp enough and clear enough for my second question to be answered.

I should add that there is no wording in the photo. The name I'm after is the manufacturer. The products are internationally renowned, if not iconic.

The maker's objects are desirable. Antique ones fetch high prices. Several examples of antique and modern items have appeared on TV shows such as Antiques Road Show, or Flog it, or Dickenson's Real Deal.

Sorry, the manufacturer is not from the Black Country, but from an area on the Northern boundary of the Black Country in Staffordshire.

Apologies for misleading.

You do have enough information to solve this challenge. Any takers?
