A different version of my object is used in a Scottish sporting event - a favourite at the Highland Games. The Scottish version does not look like my object, though. I just threw that clue on to hook in with the Olympic Games mood

A handle of a racquet for ? lacrosse? badminton? Not sure what they play in Scotland.

A curling "broom" handle? As in, the thing they smooth the ice with in the path of the granite stone, to try and extend or change the travel.

It is a handle, but for a tool which is heavy. The Scottish sport is very Scottish. The Scottish version is thrown.
