Unwanted music syncing to devices

Would be brilliant if someone could explain why this is happening.

I am syncing the music on my devices through icloud and I also have icloud match, but I do not want it to sync ALL the songs. The unwanted songs have been unchecked in my computer itunes but they still keep syncing. I really like the idea of it backing up to icloud and my not having to keep plugging my devices into the computer so I don't really want to turn this off, if possible.

Any advice would be apprecciated.

I have a Iphone 4s, ipad 2 and ipad mini.

Songs that you sync with the computer should show up as downloaded.

Songs you only have in iCloud Match should show up with a cloud symbol. They are not downloaded, but available. If you play them they download. Depending on how frequently you play the song and how much memory the iPad has they will be automatically removed, eventually, and the cloud symbol will reappear.
