Ok, a set of clues before additional pics ....

1. You are normally given these as opposed to buying them yourself.
2. Most family's will at some point had at least one of these in their house at some point.
3. They usually come in pairs.

Ok, here is another picture, a different part of the same item .....

First picture looks like the tip of a crutch and since they come in pairs, crutches?
The second image appears to be a bracing device a per would use to make it easier to walk with the crutches.

I'm currently on crutches after an operation on my hip, hopefully not for too much longer though!

It's obviously an embroidered patch of some kind.

The main structure is floppy and your on the right lines with embroidery but it's not a basket.
