If it's a monochrome orange, I'd peel it and eat the fruit. Then I'd extract the oil from the peel. It's great for baking. The peel can be grated too using the rind bits as zest in baking and stir fry dishes.

Of course it has to be an orange first.

Is it a monochrome avocado? If it is I'd peel, remove the pit (save) and mash the pulp into the Admiral's famous "Hangar Deck Guacamole".
To keep it looking fresh - add some lemon (fresh) juice and let the pit sit on top.

Other avocado serving suggestions include sliced, in "Cobb Salad Adama."
Even Cylons ceasefire to get a plate.

My clinomter isn't sophisticated. I though a 3/4 view would have given things away. It shows that its risky to assume things!
