It's the first total solar eclipse since July 2010, and the last until March 2015. Leelai, you're lucky to be where you are today!

A small part of northern Queensland is the only place on land to view this eclipse.

It was quite lovely and became quite dark here.....keep in mind it was just before 7am which is normally full daylight here.

The best place to view was 1800km north of where we are but we still had most of the effect of it here. In Cairns, day became night.

I did try to capture it in photos but the sun is still showing even though at the time it was quite covered but you can see the twilight effect
