What's new

The movie that impressed yout the most!

my most watched film so i suppose you could say the most impressed was The Shawshank Redemption, excellent film.

Gosh there's several.. For the overall "that was SOOO cool" category: Armageddon, the Lord of the Rings, and the Avengers. In the "that was amazing, what the heck just happened?" category: the Mystery of Rampo (a Japanese-language film available thru the mail by Netflix, I believe), in the "I really liked it but don't want anyone to know because I'm a guy" category: Ever After (the Dru Barrymore flick), Pride and Prejudice (Kiera Knightly), my big, fat, Greek, wedding, and While You Were Sleeping.

2001: A Space Odyssey. I still watch it and marvel that this was achieved in 1968.

Also rans: Bladerunner, Lord of the Rings, Casino.

Loads more but these are the ones I will keep coming back to.

I don't know which site to download free movie on my iPad 2

Free movies are very difficult to acquire legally, and for this reason, you are not Iikely to find many answers here. Most members of this forum rip DVDs that they have bought, and transfer them to iPad.

We do not condone theft, nor allow discussion of piratical methods.

Posting this for your information. I am not suggesting that you intend to do anything wrong.

Agree, it's a great film. Think recently it has been voted as No. 1 in the 100 best-loved films ever.

It was "Bambi" for me when I was little. It hit my stomach with a sledge-hammer then. Now, a lifetime later, still does. Animals dying turn on my taps every time.

Almost up with that is "Dersu Uzala", a Russian-Japanese-made film (Kurosawa) set in furthest Siberia. It ticks every box you could think of. We bought a copy on VCR which we can't play any more... :-(

(Just seen it's now available on DVD. I'm off to order one. Wiki describes the film if anyone is interested.)

Cool Hand Luke
Cat On A Hot Tin Roof
Bullet
The Longest Day
2001 A Space Odyssey
A L I E N
Blade Runner
Terminator
Terminator Judgement Day
We Were Soldiers

All of the above are high on my repeat viewing index.

While it doesn't qualify as a motion picture, of all video viewing in my lifetime, "Band of Brothers" has left a deep impression. I've watched the series twice and am about to begin a third viewing.

Never seen any of BofBs but this makes me want to. The music is very familiar & just swoony.

Yes to ALIEN but I never could get the popularity of 2001 Space Odyssey. What the heck did I miss about it?
