I'm Not new to apple products and jailbreaking them. I have a iphone 5 and a 3rd gen iPad and i have jailbroken them both with ease on my Macbook Pro Laptop. I am having trouble jailbreaking my daughters iPhone 5C for some reason, i googled the problem and other people were saying you need to try using a faster computer. My macbook is pretty fast with alot of RAM, plus i've already jailbroken other devices on it. So any help or suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks.
Hi and welcome to the forum. It's good to "see" you and we hope you enjoy your visits.
A couple of questions for you. (1) Do you have the latest iOS on the iPhone 5c (iOS 7.0.6)? And, did that iOS get on the phone by coming that way when new or via the over-the-air (OTA) method of upgrading? The OTA method is when you install the new iOS on the phone itself using the Settings app.
If either of those are true, you will have to restore a "fresh" version of iOS 7.0.6 on the phone using iTunes. When the upgrade is OTA or from the factory, the jail break tool often doesn't work (especially the OTA).
All you will have to do is connect the phone to iTunes and click on the "Restore" button (NOT the upgrade button - if it's there). Make sure to do a backup first. Then, iTunes will do its magic and you'll end up with the phone on iOS 7.0.6.
Then, hopefully, you have the latest version of the evasi0n 7 jail break tool (version 1.0.7). After closing iTunes, run the tool and the jail break should work.
Hopefully, that'll take care of it. If not, holler back and we'll give it another shot. Good luck.
