When I pinch to close an app, I don't get that problem. The closing looks completely smooth when I do it.

I wouldn't call it a problem and it's kind of hard to describe. In fact I'm not sure it's not an optical illusion. When i come from the lock screen I see all the icons racing in to position. But when I pinch close an app it looks like the center core of the icons are already in place, then the outer layer come flying in. Kind of like drops of water running down a ramp vs. running down a funnel.

Shoot maybe after reading some of the i hate this posts, I'm seeing things.

Still wonder how I picked up 1.3 GB of space. Maybe the clean install took care of file system gremlins.

What you're describing is the way it's supposed to work in iOS 7 on the iPad.

No for me it's like the icons stop about 10 pixels short of the final position then jump to the final positions. But they are smooth when you unlock it.
Yes. That happens while closing Safari, but for me, the whole procedure is accompanied by a grey background, which reappears after some time.

No major issues thus far. Getting used to the new look and feel.

Eventually managed to get Newsstand moved to a folder☺️

I as well. Had to ask a few questions like where the SEARCH feature is and one other feature I fit get which one now. But since I was able to locate these 7 seems to be OK. I did download a different calculator and calendar.

I just noticed the jump when pinch closing an app myself, I always used the home button for closing apps, so I tried it and the icons do snap to position right at the end but there's no black or grey effect just a slight freeze before finishing.

The "zooming" of icons I presume, is intentional, the snap looks to me like the display hardware is hitting a brief bottleneck before finishing the icon animation though.

Well having played with version 7 on my iPad 3 for almost 2 days I've reverted back to iOS v6.3.

How did you revert back to iOS 6.3? I thought that could not be done.

There was a window of time in which you could have reverted back to the earlier OS.

It lasted 2-3 days if I remember correctly but is now not possible as Apple is now only signing OS7.

Just did the update via itunes on my mini. First things I noticed: I went from 4.9 Gb free to 6.2 ! There is a hitch when i pinch close an app repainting the icons, maybe 0.1 second, just enough to make it look a little jerky but i did notice this in safari: <img src="http://www.ipadforums.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=48659"/> see how the print icon is sheared off. It's the same in portrait or landscape.
just slide the lower icons to the left. Print icon will sppear.

Try closing apps by 4 finger swipe upwards. Then a small picture of each appears. To finally dismiss an app just flick the pictures to the top.

I said the black background accompanied by the snap is only for Safari. All of the other apps close smoothly, without any grey background and without any snap.

Just a reminder: Please do not call out other people on this forum and do not take generic statements as being directed at you.

We have a rule here that folks must "play nice" with each other. Let's stick to that, m'kay? Thanks.

Sorry I didn't make it clear, I meant I didn't experience a black background with safari either while pinch closing it or an app. I was just confirming that I was experiencing the snapping too, and that it occurs with ALL pinch closing.

Yes. When I unlock they all come in from all directions, and with the home button from the top. They act like a runners sliding in to home plate. But when I pinch close an app, they start out like the sliding runner, then act like they were shot out of a cannon into a brick wall.

It almost seems like whatever they are using tor a timer to time the slide gets interrupted by the pinch close, and then it plays catch up.

So no one else experiences the black background except me, and everybody experiences the 'snap' effect in all apps, except me, for my case, only for Safari!! iOS 7 has different tastes for different people. Smart OS, is it not? ;)
