When this new operating system is finally released, how will we get to it; implement it etc. Any information available to us who are new at the iPad? Will there be information available? Like a user manual? or what? Anybody know?

I am assuming we will just connect our ipads to iTunes and a message will pop up to let us know the upgrade is available. I am longing for that moment! Hope it all goes smoothly.

You can download a copy of the iPad User Guide. It is available for free in several different formats.

a) As a free PDF download from the Apple website --
Apple - Support - Manuals

This can (and should!) be saved on your computer and your iPad.

b) As a free iBook once you download the free iBook app from the iTunes App Store.

c) Online using the link provided in the Safari favorites on your iPad.

The answers to many questions, especially if this is your first Apple mobile "iDevice", can be answered by spending some quality time with this handy document.

Well if it is anything like what happened when the iPhone went to 4.1 there will be an updated PDF that deals with 4.2. In September Apple released "iPhone User Guide (For iOS 4.1 Software)."

We will prolly see 4.2 releases for both iPad and iPhone. Certainly iPad because 4.2 is such a huge change.
