I have a kazillon questions ~

* packages. Exactly what are they?

* I was checking out the themes in some section, and the few I clicked on told me they were for the iPhone only. And is there a way to review before you buy?

I feel like I have entered the twilight zone when I cruise around Cydia.

I love it.

1. Packages- every theme, hack tweak, whatever in Cydia. A package has the app, and all it's add ons and other stuff that comes with it.
2. No reviewing, unless the developer has reviews on their website. So no reviews in Cydia.

So you buy the app and hope you like the themes it offers? Or am I just not getting it?

No, sorry, maybe that wasn't clear. You buy a theme, and it installs the theme. You can look at screen shots to see if you like the theme.
So you tap on something in Cydia, if you hit install, then it downloads the package. From the package it installs the app, or theme.

Winterboard will just apply the themes. You use Cydia to download.

Both answers are correct.

First you install Winterboard, a backbone for Themes and then install any future theme from Cydia. Though the new theme may need to be activated via Settings->Winterboard->Themes.

Btw. most iPad compatible themes carry an 'ipad' in their title.

I know there is an app for this ~ and I am not even sure I FOUND the apps in Cydia...they don't look the same as in iTunes.

It took me years to get the correct mixture for such an advanced potion, as this coffee. It still isn't close to be perfect, but it will do for now.

Cydia isn't that confusing. You just always use 'Search' to find any app, theme, your heart's desires, afterwards just tap the top-right corner to install.

Anyhow, it usually is easier to search for anything Cydia-related beforehand and then once you know the name, type it in the Cydia search.
