Hi, thanks for being accepted as a member.
I do have a problem with my iPad. When I tried to update to iOS 6, I got an message "An error occurred while backing this iPad (0xE800400B)"
I have spent 4:00 hours trying to fix the problem (incl` uninstall & reinstall iTune) - need help, please.

Welcome to the forum, Yehuda!
You will no longer be able to update to iOS6.1 as Apple has closed that version. Only an update to the latest version, iOS6.1.3, is available now.

Hi OB, appreciate your respond. Actually I was trying to upgrade to the latest version offered by Apple. Is there any solution to overcome the error 0xE800400B ?

Hello and welcome to the forum. It's good to "see" you and I hope you enjoy your visits.

On your issue - what generation of iPad do you have, what iOS version are you running and can you tell us how you are trying to to the upgrade (DFU mode, clicking the Restore button in iTunes, etc). Knowing all that will help us.

In addition, have you seen this link from Apple concerning the 0xE errors: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3221. Maybe there is something in there that will help?

Thanks for your welcome. It is really nice to get responds from the forum members.
The iPad I own is iPad2, 16 GB, iOS 4.3.5 . In order to upgrade I`m clicking on the
"Update" button. Backing proc` starts up and then interrupt by error msg "An error
occurred while backing this iPad (0xE800400B)
. .It is midnight here in Israel and I will be back "on air" tomorrow. Meanwhile I`m going to check the link you gave me.

Do you have the most current version of iTunes installed (version 11.0.2 as of this writing).

And, you didn't say, but - did you try all the suggestions offered by Apple in the link I provided?

Yes! It work. Thanks to you Marilyn, I do have the latest versions - for my iPad & iTune.
