On an archeology dig, an ancient Roman privy in the process of being uncovered. Been a bit cold overnight so there's ice formed, interestingly in the shape of the original seat which (being made of ancient Roman wood) has perished.

(sorry, couldn't resist!)

Sorry, it's not a kiln or archaeological dig.the object is less than 100 years old and was uncovered for repair purposes. Here's another photo.

It's not a factory smoke stack.
This object is normally buried during use,with only the top showing. The top is missing in the photos.

In my second last photo,you can see the concrete replacement for the old brick structure sitting beside the hole.
