They're parts of the cast iron gun carriage of a 32 pounder cannon.These carriages were used to hold the guns during times of peace when the guns weren't going to be fired.This was to preserve the wooden carriages from weathering and rot during periods which could last for years.They would be found in British fortifications all over the former British empire.The first ones I personally saw were in Fort Henry,Kingston,Ontario.
