It is a container, but it's metal. The wood is just a surface the object happened to be on when I photographed it.

No,it does hold a liquid drink, but the container is single use, made of metal.

Steel plate with non skid pattern on the surface. I've seen it used on stair treads and some areas of decking on some of the old naval reserve training vessels I served in.

It is a steel plate (cover) with raised (no skid) surface. It's part of an outdoor placement that
protects something vital. The something vital is required for another vital piece of equipment operating in close proximity.
