I just spent an hour cleaning vinyl LPs. I have a modest collection, and like to buy used records, mainly classical, typically for under a buck apiece in good condition. It's a great way to try new kinds of music with almost no investment but the time to hunt it down. And to clean it after returning with a new haul--after up to 55 years, the grooves can get grubby. But most clean up nicely if not scratched, and on good equipment sound better than CD. They're like a time machine into the musical past. Think about it: most of the performers are dead now, but I'm bringing them back to life and enjoying their art.
OK, time to listen to my preciousssssss....
