The first time my mom visited after we installed surround sound, her reaction was hilarious. Every five minutes, she'd ask whether we should turn it down, because she worried that the neighbors would call the cops on us.

Gary Sinise is one of the stars. Another excellent actor - Ed Harris - plays the part of Eugene "Gene" Kranz, then Mission Flight Director.

As Hollywood recreations go - this is one of the good ones.

It's available thru iTunes for rental or purchase.

Yes, I know it. I've watched it quite often, I've also read the book by Jim Lovell, who is played by Tom Hanks, another wonderful actor. My son owns the DVD, so I can enjoy it whenever I like to.

There's a documentary feature I like as well. I think it's named "Dark side of the moon" with a really interesting score, and the former Apollo astronauts talking about their adventures. There are guys like Edwin Aldrin, Mike Collins, Gene Cernan (last man on the moon), ...
