It was quite lovely and became quite dark here.....keep in mind it was just before 7am which is normally full daylight here.

The best place to view was 1800km north of where we are but we still had most of the effect of it here. In Cairns, day became night.

I did try to capture it in photos but the sun is still showing even though at the time it was quite covered but you can see the twilight effect

I thought I was doing well with a 3 day weekend! Although due to having quite a bit of annual leave to use up I won't be working a full 5 day week again until the second week in January.

Not that I'm aware of, the norm used to be around four weeks plus Bank Holidays but now it seems to be five to six weeks plus Bank Holidays.

That's great sci. You need that second week to relax because the first is used for decompression. At least that's how it works for me.

There was a survey released in Canada this week that remarked upon the number of workers who don't take their full annual leave because they don't feel they can be away from work that long. Midway through November and i still have almost 3 weeks left on the clock. Don't know how I'm going to manage that.
