According to this news article today I'm trying to decide where I would rather be, whether here in Adelaide over the next week or at Niagara Falls which has frozen over

I don't think I would like shovelling snow, so I'll just stay, stock up on beer (vital so as not to get dehydrated, you understand) and pray the aircon doesn't break down.

I'd stay in Adelaide if I were you Andrew! However, it's suppose to get warmer at least to a balmy 30 degrees!

I am up at rainbow beach next to Fraser Island Qld Australia perfect swimming weather is average 28c water is warm beach is perfect and of course the beer is bloody cold.

I just had a cold beer, but minus Rainbow beach! All we have here is snow capped trees and bushes!

Both images were posted to a local Twitter account that I follow. I went to bed at 7pm under heavy cloud cover - 15km west of where these pictures were taken from. I had to get up at 03:00 and hoped to see it then but nothing was shimmering at that time.

Well that's a bummer for you, but at least someone else was able to capture and share it. They are stunning!

We have had cloudy, foggy weather here all day. It has also warmed up too and is now getting ready to rain any time now.

That's exactly what I am afraid of right now. I really hate driving on a sheet of ice. Did that last year and it was white knuckle driving until I turned around to drive back home. I hope that is not what we get this weekend! Hope your weather warms up considerably so it doesn't freeze as predicted, AA!

Getting foggy here as the temp rises. -2 and raining. Freezing rain started around 03:00. Supposed to end when temp reaches ZERO around Noon. Had no choice but to be on the road this AM. Fortunately people haven't lost their minds and they're driving according to the conditions.

Your friend's son must have played well last night.

At 10:45 PM, the temperature is 4°C, with light rain, making for very slippery roads when it freezes later tonight. The high tomorrow is supposed to be only -4°C, with temperatures dropping to -15°C by this time tomorrow.

50°F right now, and most of the snow has melted. Just returned from a very pleasant walk around the neighborhood, ended up carrying my jacket.
