Understanding memory

Hi All

I'd like to start a thread That I hope we can add to in helping understand iPad memory usage.

My first question here: If I recycle the iPad, without closing any running apps in the multitasking bar, those apps will reappear in the multitasking bar after reboot. So, does that mean they are all reloaded back into memory?

Secondly, I notice the above situation can still resolve what appears to be memory constraint issues, even though my guess is the app is back in memory. Is this because the reboot did in fact clear some memory, primarily the data the apps had open?

Lastly, when an app loads, is it assigned X amount of memory in its "sandbox"? Or, is memory allocated to the app on an as needed basis?
