In the albums view there are 3 Last Import albums with nothing in them. How do I get rid of them?

Look for a wastebasket icon at the lower left when you open the album. Use it if it appears.

Better take it to an Apple Store if a hard reset won't fix it.

Thanks anyway.

I'm almost afraid to import anymore photos. This is getting ridiculous! When you delete the photos from the last import album, the album should go away.

I had the same "problem" after updating to iOS 7. Last week, I needed to set my iPad up again. I went to erase all content and settings, then restored from a backup. Interesting enough, this didn't occur since then. When I delete all pictures in a imported album now, the album disappears.

So, my advice would be to restore your iPad from a backup. If you don't have a backup yet, then create one.

I presume that you have upgraded to IOS 7.0.3,

OK. I have solved the problem!

In order to get rid of the Last Import albums:

1- Take some pictures with your camera.

2- Use the camera connection kit and import a picture. You will see that the picture will go to one of the Last Import albums that you could not get rid of before.
I did not delete the picture from the camera card and I don't know if it makes a difference. Just take enough pictures to cover how many Last Import albums that you need to delete.

3- Open the Last Imported Photos and Videos album and scroll down to the album with the current date.

4- Open the current date album and delete the picture.

5- Go back to Albums and you will see that one of your Last Import albums is now gone.

6- Repeat steps 2-5 until you no longer have any Last Import albums.
