Good news, you can upgrade straight from Snow Leopard, follow the instructions on this page http://www.apple.com/uk/osx/how-to-upgrade/

You might want to check that you have plenty of RAM in your MacBook but otherwise your MacBook (without me knowing the full specs) should be good for upgrading.
