No alert sounds

I have an IPad 2. I have no alert sounds for iMessage, email, FaceTime, etc. I do however have audio sound for
Music and video. I have set all the sounds, made sure mute is not checked etc. can anyone help?

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

So you have set up these apps in notifications for their alerts, your mute toggle above the volume control is not turned off. Have you checked the volume control which is accessed by way of the multi task bar? Do the four finger upper swipe or press the home button twice to bring up your multi task bar and swipe to the right to find a volume control here. Also have you checked sound through Settings - General - Sounds and also made sure your keyboard click setting is activated? Let us know.

I'm having the same problem. I've checked everything that anyone has mentioned and still no sound for FaceTime or any other alert. The sounds used to work but don't anymore.

I finally discovered the problem. I had the mute checked on the task bar. I didn't know there was a mute there. I thought it was just the screen brightness side.
