I ordered a new I-pad 3 on Wednesday and hope to receive it on the 16th. This is my first intro to Apple with the exception of I-pods. I have been pretty stuck on Windows and my phone is an Android. But, now that Apple and dare I say Microsoft are making some to the Office tools available ... I will take the plunge! The I-pad is certainly much easier to carry than even my Asus laptop, which weighs in under 5 pounds, but still feels like a lead weight walking through an airport.

Hi Jns...

You are going to just love our new iPad. I, too, have been a windows user--but took the same plunge you did last September with my ipad2. I really enjoy the performance and portability of this wonderful device. When I was in Graduate school, I took my laptop on a 1 week vacation to keep up with my classwork. Talk about one heavy laptop to lug around. The iPad is so different and such a joy to use. Your days are now counting down. Congrats!

Also, iBooks has the iOS 5 user manual here, which is nice to have in your library, iTunes - Books - iPad User Guide for iOS 5 by Apple Inc.
