New Member from North Carolina!

Hello all - just joined this forum the day my iPad2 arrived - I've been a user of the iPod Touch for over a year so use to the interface but will have a bunch of questions - wife & I travel a lot and usually carry a Windows or Linux laptop, so this may be our potential replacement?

I started out in computing back in 1980 w/ an Apple II+, then switch to a MS computer and have been using them since the mid-80s - more a choice of my job (i.e. need for compatibility at home & in the office); BUT, I'll be retiring in 2 months!

So, now I'm open - currently, I have a Dell desktop in the home (wife is QUITE happy & use to that OS); also have several laptops, one a Dell Latitude w/ VISTA & another old IBM w/ Linux; now have added the iPad to the mix, so we have a lot of options at the moment!

Glad to be here and hope to read some interesting threads and maybe start posting myself -

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!

Hello Tim - thanks for your prompt response - I belong to a bunch of forums that relate to my interests (posted in my bio), so quite use to the usual rules.

Also appreciate the link to the iPad manual - will download ASAP - had to put on my magnifying glasses to read the brief comments that came w/ the iPad package, so hope the manual is a BETTER option!

Looking forward to participating in the forum - Dave
