Well i downloaded and installed the 4.2 beta today and so far apart from a little bit of lag when switching apps it looks good but one thing that doesnt work is airprint i have a shared printer on the pc but the pad refuses to see it? anyone know if this feature is fully working yet?

Right now I think HP makes the only printer that is compatible with this system, but I am sure BestBuy will have a bunch to chose from by Black Friday!

The "biggie" -- multi-tasking!
When I first installed 4.2, I just kind of randomly started opening apps to make sure they would still work. (Most did!) So then when I went to check to see what was opened in the multi-tasking window (by double-tapping the Home button), EVERY app I had opened was in there meaning that it was not really closed all the way, but just sort of "hibernating" or waiting until I needed it again. To close these apps, you hold down one of them until it starts to "wiggle" (just like if you were going to move an app on your screen) and then you can close them one at a time.
I can see where it might be possible to run out of memory real fast if you forget to close out your apps periodically. I have also heard that battery life is somewhat degraded with 4.2 and this might be the reason why (but I don't know for sure).

I imagine they damn well better be backwards compatible!
i did read somewhere it will work with any shared printer on mac or pc but i dont know if thats the case at the moment.
i prefer having the switch on the side as the orientation lock rather than a mute switch for the sound, now u need to double click the home button and swipe across to find the button, you just need to hold the volume down switch for about a second to mute it anyway.

I can tell you that it will not work on a Windows-based network with a shared printed... unless I am doing something wrong!

It is not a matter of not working yet, it is a matter of it not working on anything but one of the printers designed for the ePrint application... like the one from HP -- HP Photosmart e-All-in-One - D110a for only $99.99!
