Honestly the iPad 3 isn't really much of an "upgrade". The biggest thing you get is a clearer screen, which is pretty useless unless you are doing something that requires excellent graphics. IMO, apple failed with the new ipad

Thus the new screen is exactly what I need and want on such a device (I used mine everyday since I got it for both work and play). This may not be so for you and others, which is why it is good to have options.
