Hi all, I,m BEEGEE from Spain. I want to buy a camera connection kit for my Ipad2, recently bought, learning rapidly. My problem is , after reading various reports about the kits unsuitablity with many camaras I am uneasy about buying one. My camara is a Panasonic FZ50, has anyone any experience of using this camara with the Apple connection kit please? Many thanks for your help.

Hi BG,
The make and model of camera doesn't matter. What DOES matter is the way that images are stored on either the camera's internal memory or the removeable memory stick.
What you need to do is take a few pictures using a memory stick and then connect the memory stick to your computer to view the files.
Chances are that you will find a folder marked DCIM when you open the memory stick folder. Double clicking on that will bring up another folder with the camera make and model. Double clicking that brings up the images.
All you need for the camera kit to work is that DCIM folder. If that shows, you should be able to transfer images and video clips via the Camera Connection Kit no matter what kind of camera you use.
Hope that helps.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

I see 5teve has already given you some great info. If you purchase the CCK from an Apple store you should be able to return it if it's not compatible, just enquire about this at the store.

I bought one of the cheap eBay clone CCK's for 4€ and it works fine with all the cameras I have tried it with so far, Canon DSLR and P&S, Nikon P&S, Lumix P&S and Fuji. My CCK actually works with a usb card reader and so it reads xD and CF cards as well as the standard SD cards.
