ipad stop working

I was trying to download a new version of itune and it stopped functioning. The display has an apple and two lines. Please, help me!! I cannot turn it on or off.

Time for a reboot.

Press and hold the Home and Power buttons for about 9 seconds - or longer - until the white Apple logo appears. The iPad will then reboot and all will be OK.
