I'm with Seadog on this one. Obviously the Galaxy is going to weigh less. Seriously though, if you are carrying them around in your backpack the difference in weight does not make a difference in the world.

Imagine, if you can, the situation where there were only 100 random apps on android. Then you folks would be saying there were no apps.

That is why I used the word random, so none could make that claim. While you may only use a relatively small number of apps it doesn't serve the needs of millions of people to have only a few apps. And saying the ones you don't use are rubbish, as the op did, is senseless.
There is no point in any discussion at all if bogus, self-serving opinion is not challenged. People say things to defend their position in the moment, with no thought beyond that.
What is the point of more effective filtering if the filter is blocking what you want but not that of others? One person's junk is another's treasure.

Blackberry is exactly in that situation, where you have a choice of a few thousand most common apps. The os runs smooth, it's a great device but I don't see too many android users singing its praises. As a blackberry user before I heard all the time that there were no apps for it - even though I had many more functional apps than I have on either my android or iPad tablet.
There are pluses and minuses to all the devices.
You don't own enough about to support a claim that 99% of them are rubbish. That's just a weak argument to make the number of apps meaningless in support of your claim. And the original iPad is over two years old, so you're comparing to old tech.
And what, those are the only quality apps? You speak with no impact.
