Help with a sound issue for my ipad 2

Hi Everyone:

I am new to this forum and hopefully I am posting my question correctly.

Anyway, I recently purchased an ipad 2 for my special needs daughter, who will need me to make this machine as user friendly for her as possible.

Currently, I am having difficulties with some issues in the operation of the ipad.

I have only used computers in the past and this new ipad is a whole new world.

At any rate, can someone please tell me how I can control the volume?

I realize this is a very basic function on it, but I cannot find the setting anywhere. The only thing I can find for sound, are functions such as ringtones, new mail, locking sounds, etc...

I appreciate ahead of time for any information that will help me with this issue.

Welcome to the forums.

The volume on the iPad is controlled either by the rocker switches on the top right hand side of the device (up to increase, down to decrease), or you can use the "soft" controls....

Double tap the Home button at the bottom of the screen. You will see a line of icons pop up. These are your currently open apps.
You can swipe the icons to the right with your finger and that will reveal the iPod controls and two sliders.
The one on the right is the volume. The one on the left is brightness. There is also a mute button to the far left.

You can enhance the sound on ipad2

Hit the home button twice. You will see a series of icons at the bottom of the screen. These are apps you have running in the background and using all of your memory/power. Hold down one of them and then all will appear with red delete signs. Delete all of them. This WILL NOT delete them from your home screen. Do it while music is playing and notice the incredible difference.
