Email attachments

Haven't had my iPad long and whilst it I a beautiful thing I am having trouble opening email attachments.
I am principally interested in .doc .docx .pdf and excel

Does anyone have a simple solution for me

You can also try Office2 HD - only $8 and will open all of those.
