Dragonvale Tips & Tricks! (NO Friend Requests!)

With respect to StormEvans ' calculation, it reinforces my opnion that the move towards gold shrines was a decision not thought over by the makers of the game. The game is designed for dragons levels 15 max but not above. Maybe they were panicked when so many were stuck at level 20 of the game for weeks? Or, this is the only way they thought of getting the game over because nobody is going to seriously try for any more then maybe one level 20. The rest will give up. Maybe the makers want to move on and are already working on another game and want to let this one die ?

You maybe correct. But if Brooklyn can do it then I know it can be done (the right way) and it makes me want to try.... Kind of a cool challenge :0

phibes74 is right I did it and in faster time than you think it would be possible because I use the boost I always have and it's never affected my breeding for rares. And the gold shrine goal is not impossible but it is time consuming and can be done with ease and patience. Breed on!!!!

I expect that they'll rescale the treat requirements in the near future, which will relief a lot of players, but also enfuriate those that actually made it before. They really can't go on past level 20 at this rate anyway.
I don't think leveling the dragons was a goal they anticipated in the first place. The size scaling up to level 10 was nice, the orbs they get past lv 10 look ridiculous imo and take away from the "realistic" point of view, and the little crown even more so. The is nothing visually impressive about an "ascended" dragon at this point (unless you talk about lv 19 sandstorm dragons).

If they wish to turn Dragonvale into a milking cow like e.g. Farmville, they have a lot to learn still. At this point it's impossible to proceed in the game using real money (see the absurd cost to level a dragon from lv1 to lv20), which is something any game with transactions should/will strife for.

I am so glad I have some one to look up to..

Sometimes it is just nice to play a game have some fun set some goals and not stress over the fact that it may take me till my kids move out (the twins are 8) to make it to gold..... It is just a really cool game with a really cool group of people to talk to about it!!! Just have fun and it will happen (one day)

I have noticed that many players concentrate on breeding rares or new dragons and on organizing their islands which are becoming real pieces of art and design. Not many speek about the shrines thinggy, whereby getting the silver ones is not too much of a hassle.
And anyway, those who already had some level 15 when they upgraded were disapointed to see that they were not taken into account.

Of course, I agree! But it's only natural that a develloper would want to make the most buck out of their games. In the end they won't update their game if there's no money made with it =/

I decided to move the breeding cave and hatchery off my Nursery Island because it's so busy with all the 36 (I think) babies bouncing around - a lot like Sunday night family dinner at my house with the cousin posse running wild.

I moved them to the island that the EBI is connected to. The island already had the treat farms on it. So between the breeding, growing treats, and hatching eggs, it's the island I spend the most time on. So I decided to move the habitats with the shortest limit to maxing out, lightening and plant, to the same island. They max out so fast that I'm late getting there most of the time. But now every time I'm on the island for the other activities I can just click on those and gather a few coins I would have missed.

My medium limit habitats, air, fire and water, are on my Colosseum island. And my high limit habitats, earth (love earth with the new panlong) and cold (love cold with the new frostfire) are on my Chinese island.

Just provides a little efficiency in coin gathering so I don't keep waking up every two hours (I AM an addict - but better DV than pain killers). :)

That is such a great idea! Thanks for sharing your insight. I might try something like that. It is always a frustration to jump around when collecting coins and then trying to figure out which combo to breed next!

Woohoo, yesterday my blazing and mud dragons finally got their thing going and started making a Panlong dragon ^^
I'll get the egg tonight, and the dragon on Saturday then :) Huzzah, now to get another one so I can start breeding those together. I recon I only need 40 of them to level my 4 shrines :p

Congrats! I've been trying for #2 panlong for a few days now. No luck. But also trying for frost fire in other cave alternately.
