Hmmm..let me think fora moment.. What about the comment peppiegal made? Does displaying the egg increase the value of your island? I'm leanjng towards hatching more I think. But I want it to be a (strategic) choice I won't regret. Ok, I might take this a bit too seriously I know;-)

Maybe it will add to park value, but just a little.

Here is something to consider:
Getting a gemstone egg pedestal is as rare and as exciting as hatching a gemstone dragon because you can never breed 2 gemstone dragon together unlike any dragon, so once you missed it you'll never get it until next year. Yes you'll miss some gem, but that is only 1 gem per week/4 gem per month, that is just too little, that is not something to worry about. And there will come to the point when you'll get more than one gemstone dragon per month, your gemstone island will be full even before all the gemstone dragon be introduced, you have no choice but to sell it, then there will come to point that you'll regret not having an gemstone egg collection.

Here's my simple rules: 1st goes to the island, 2nd for display, 3rd or more goes to the island. You already have one Ruby in the island, why need two, you still don't have Ruby's egg pedestal, then display it. but it's your choice, some like collecting stamps, some think it's just a piece of paper, same thing on collecting eggs, some are just not fond of collecting eggs.

Chrome and scorch gave me 48hrs. Hoping for Rainbow, though I feel it will be the less rare gold. How long does the treasure habitat take to build? I have 1 habitats spot available an I wanna wait till the breeding is done to build either rainbow or treasure.

I'm in the same boat, almost! I don't have any habitats left so when I get a look at the egg, I've gotta move!!

Rare Dragons are dragons that have their own elements and special habitat such as rainbow, sun, moon, gold. And are all here to stay. Solstice Dragon and Leap Year Dragon are limited-time dragon but are also considered rare, because they are sun and rainbow counterpart. Gemstone Dragon is also limited-time dragon but also considered rare because it has its own element and habitat, and can only bred using secret combinations of dragons and have a low chance of success.

Limited Dragons are more like normal dragons but they are only available to be bred during a small window of days/weeks. Limited Dragons are often, but not always, associated with holidays.

I had a scorch and chrome egg today and kept them until I had the time to hatch them both at the same time. I have only just leveled them both up to 10. I immediately put them in my epic breeding cave, chrome the scorch - and what do you know, it's a ruby. Strange, thats exactly how I got my first one. Really, really happy. Now for 1 more gold and then malachite. Definitely doing the dragonvale happy dance.

Does anybody know if chrome+scorch gives ran ow,gold,moon or sun? Because I think I have a had a 48 hour one I don't remember because now its at 24 hours

It can only give you Rainbow and Gold for 48hrs in that combo. But maybe you got RUBY, 31hrs.

Metal+willow can get you both Pollen and Malachite. But Malachite is more hard to get. Pollen is easy. Even simply plant+air have high chance of getting Pollen.

No, the only combo for ruby dragon is chrome+scorch or vise versa. Brass+flower is good for Gold Dragon. Did i get your question right?

The dragons are still breeding, so I won't know which habitats till tomorrow hoping for Rainbow!

I've been waiting to try this, but I haven't been able to get a new chrome, then finally this morning I got it. Now I just have to wait for it to hatch. Should be done by the time I am done with work

For me, on both occasions I waited and powered them up one after the other from 0-10. If you are waiting for your chrome and you already have a scorch, don't power up your scorch until you have hatched your chrome. That's how I did it - 2 try's - 2 rubies. It may not be a guarantee, but others have also listed that strategy in this forum. If you are getting frustrated, and you have no ruby yet, it's worth giving it a try. Keep us posted so that we can all rejoice with you when you breed her. Good luck.
