Hmmm..let me think fora moment.. What about the comment peppiegal made? Does displaying the egg increase the value of your island? I'm leanjng towards hatching more I think. But I want it to be a (strategic) choice I won't regret. Ok, I might take this a bit too seriously I know;-)

Lol! I think exactly the same way! Are we looking to much into "what we can see"? Should we be thing maybe more decorations increase our worth and make us more likely to WIN the dragon lottery?

I don't know about anyone else, but for me, I really don't like the look of the dragonsai gifting tree. When it's dripping with gems, it looks beautiful, but with no gems it looks rather barren. Yesterday as I was moving things around a little, I decided to put 5 happy trees around it. It looks really cool! It's green, healthy and looks attractive, even more so when the gems are shining - looks like it should be made that way!

Just got home from work. Throughout the day in my breaks, and any other time I can get, I do a quick sweep of my islands. Just realized that at some stage today I have placed a reindeer dragon in an earth event for the colosseum - oh dear! This may be the very first time I wont get a gold or silver. a bronze means no gems from memory!

Can we use gem dragons in colluseum? Does it slow down counter until next gem?

I had a scorch and chrome egg today and kept them until I had the time to hatch them both at the same time. I have only just leveled them both up to 10. I immediately put them in my epic breeding cave, chrome the scorch - and what do you know, it's a ruby. Strange, thats exactly how I got my first one. Really, really happy. Now for 1 more gold and then malachite. Definitely doing the dragonvale happy dance.

Congrats! I'm going to have to try that - fresh dragons!!

If you look it closely and carefully, i don't know if you notice it, but it looks pretty and very artistic, its trunk is the body and head of a dragon, the branches are its wing, and the leaves are the feathers.

Can we use gem dragons in colluseum? Does it slow down counter until next gem?

You can not put gemstone, moon, sun, rainbow and gold dragon in the colosseum, it does not have the element required for the event.

Yep, that's exactly it! Lol! I know I cannot control the odds, but somehow that doesn't matter, hehe! I still want to make the best choice long term.

Kryp (and others too) do have a point though! I mean, the gem island has room for four gem dragons so we will be forced to display the eggs at some point. If I don't display now I'll be forced to sell my ruby when my fourth gem dragon is brought on the market. If I am right in assuming that with each month a new gem dragon is introduced..

Same here! It is a tough dragon to get. We'll need A LOT of patience. I try very hard to resist the tempation of speeding up the breeding time ;-)

Yup, u got it right! And I totally understand what kryp and others mean re their philosophy. It's the first explanation I understand since all I heard previously is that they're pretty. Well, in my head, pretty doesn't pay! But I understand the limits on the gem island and losing our opportunity to display once we hatch, totally get it, but will my magic finger be ABLE to press display rather than hatch. Oo ooh, I don't knowwwwww!
