USB memory drive with iPad2?

I just bought the photo adapter and hooked up a USB keyboard to the iPad without problem and it works fine though the iPad message said that the device wasn't recognized. I was wondering if a USB memory drive could be used with some word processing app too. Anyone know of such an app? Pages doesn't have such a "send to" option.
