Hello All!

I seem to encounter a problem with the guided access application on the iPad. All of a sudden, the feature turned on and
it has left an annoying sign on my iPad screen: "Guided access app unavailable. Please contact your administrator". I
turned off guided access but the sign still remains. I have tried a force reboots and regular shutdowns but guided access
always seems to turn on by itself and the annoying sign always seems to remain.

Urgent help needed!

Hi, welcome to iPF!

Try to reboot it again. Before you do so:
Go to Settings - General - Accessibility - Learning - Guided Access, and turn it on. Then set a new passport and reboot again.

Hi - thank you for your idea. I tried it but every time I reboot, guided access turns on. Either way, the annoying sign still remains.

Another possibility:

Start the Find My iPhone app on another iDevice or go to iCloud.com, login with your Apple ID and password, and select the Find My iPhone/iPad tab.

Select the name of your iPad and choose the Lost Mode button.

When prompted set up a new password for Lost Mode. Then select the "Next" and "Done" buttons afterwards.

Your iPad should lock and enter Lost Mode.

Go back to your iPad and enter the password that you just set up in Find My iPhone. Your iPad should appear normal and show one of the homescreens.

Now try to disable Guided Access in Settings - General - Accessibility - Learning - Guided Access - slide to Off.

Okay - I tried this but still to no avail. I also tried resetting all settings but nothing worked. I don't know what to do!

Thanks for your help either way!

Have you also tried to triple click the Home button, then enter a passcode to end Guided Access?

You see, the problem is that guided access is on but not functional, which is why there is a sign stating that the app is unavailable. I have tried rebooting and activating through triple home button click but the sign won't leave and the application keeps turning on.

Just thought I would throw this in here....have you used this with an app? Is this an app which can be deleted and then downloaded again? Or does it have any settings of its own? How about Notifications, can you turn this off for this particular app?
