I had the exact same problem, and I have a 4th gen ipad. It was still charged at 82% when the problem started. I kept getting a white screen, no matter what I tried. My last option was to hook it up to my pc and restore it from a backup. Thankfully that worked! So if anyone else is having this problem, I hope this helps you too.
