Backing Up takes ages

I have just updated Zinio, the magazine reader, and see that the update messages states that it allows you to turn backup of the Zinio data OFF, as it was causing very long backup times. I also have PressReader for newspapers, but that doesn't have the same option. I am wondering whether people are aware of other causes of very long backup times, that can also be eliminated.

You can toggle backups off with a desktop app called BackOff. I know what you mean!

Be careful, though to do a backup occasionally, and MOST IMPORTANTLY before updates or restores.

I already avoid backups by clicking the cross when the backup starts in iTunes. It then starts syncing automatically. Where can one see the BackOff program?

Yes, disabling the Zinio backup cuts backup times considerably and you can always restore your mag from their website. I find with a new mag loaded backup takes a number of hours rather than 10 or 11 minutes!!

Thanks very much for the link. I can confirm that it works with iTunes 10 too, and is a panacea for lengthy Syncing.
