Yes, it is a rubber type material, my iPad 2 went in easily but probably a bit more of a struggle with the New iPad.....

I just got my iPad this week. Went to apple and all they said was available was the original cover. Fn liars! These look great!

These had been on the market (at least in China) for quite a while - and way cheaper as well....
As for quality - well, made in China, (hugh?) but not designed in California...

I'm tempted to order the new cover but before I do could someone who has the new cover confirm whether there's any chance of the crinkling on the edges as with the smart cover?

I think it's possible but it feels slightly more robust to me but then my SmartCover never crinkled at the edges.
