APP Store APP not working properly

Since I installed IOS 7 the APP Store experience has been a bit rough. Sometimes I wouldn't know there was an update unless I manually checked for updates. Now there is the little red ballon with a 1 inside but when I go to updates there is none. And, that little red update ballon does not go away from the APP. I powered down, waited for 10 minutes and powered up - no change. Appreciate any advice.

In case you chose "Automatic Downloads" for Updates in Settings - iTunes & App Stores, you shouldn't be informed about an update, afaik.

To fix your problem:
Reset your iPad: press and hold Home and Power button until the Apple logo appears.
Look at App Store - Purchased. Perhaps you'll find the app that has to be updated there.
