I have used xBackup to backup all the stuff from Cydia.
When it was done I rebooted my iPad2 and now it only boots in safe mode, which of course not so weird.
xBackup probably installed a program which is not compatible with iOS 5.0.1 yet.

Is there a way to find out which program that is?

you can open cydia when you are in safe mode, then remove one by one and see if you can fiend the problem, you have to respiring or restart every time that you remove one cydia app

Put your iPad in DFU mode and restore it to 5.0.1.
Then do the jailbreak again, and this time: no backuping with xBackup! :p

lol yeah did tht! should i try pkgbackup this time?

I shouldn't use any backup program if I were you. There are a lot of tweak not compatible with iOS 5 yet.
Restoring those tweak will make your iPad 2 end up the same as it did with xBackup.
Just first make sure which tweaks are ok, and install these one by one.

That's the only way now I guess...
