Totally shocked to find out Mick Aston has died. He is inspirational and enthusiastic. Can't believe it. He was one of the original team on Time Team. With his messy white hair, his fantastically colourful jumpers and his enthusiasm. Only 66! R.I.P my thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues in the archaeology world. Absolutely gutted to hear this. Time Team had a hole in it and it is now permanent.

Totally Richard. Time Team was a regular viewing for us and our kids. My eldest has just taken her archaeology A-levels! She says her tutor will be totally gobsmacked.
