Thanks for the welcome back all.
I have been away overseas and have been busy with my dad( I'll health )
Back in Vanuatu with a very dodgy Internet ,so will do my best to join in.
Will check out the war is it ,sounds like me.........lol
And will definitely start posting more food descriptions.
Lovely that I was missed.

Wow admiral! I have a Thorne color tv that's the one with 2 knobs it's also a solid state set but it acts like a tube set

TV of yore was a lot of work.
After the Admiral, we upgraded to a Fleetwood and later a Motorola set and then a Philips. All tube powered and black and white.

I had moved out and was married by the time dad went colour (Zenith) solid state. I inherited the Fleetwood.

In 1982 I bought a Hitachi colour set with a push button tuner. It lasted, without need of repair, until 2004 when the tube went.

In 1985 we purchased a 5 motor direct drive, Front loading Electrohome VHS machine. It lasted until 2001 with regular head abd tape guide cleaning. Once I had to pay $35.00 to have the tape guide alignment corrected.

Try to find electronics today with similar durability.
