FWIW - even with a blown out door that's still a fine looking shower. I'd have a scandalously high water bill if it was me.

It's a shame we are in water restrictions right now....love my showers.....it's still usable as we have another shower at the other end that you can't see..

And the cosmetics in that shower, wow, not that I really know much about those things. Reminds me of my wife's supermarket size arrangements in our bedroom en suite. Looks to be a nice modern bathroom.

Leelai--my goodness! What a site to see of your shower door! Thank goodness you are unhurt and the nobody else/cats were around either. I think I'd be a little nervous, too about the remaining panes.

Glad you are ok, but what a headache to clean up!

Thanks Ski........it was a real mess....very heavy glass too. Hate to think what my cat (1 won't even come upstairs) would have done if he'd been there. :O

Leelai-before I saw your post...I was going to jump into the shower myself. Now after reading about your glass-I am a bit leery about mine! LoL...maybe I will have a cup of coffee first!

I would be telling myself the odds against it happening again are just too astronomical to think about. But then again, that's what I did keep telling myself and it didn't make me feel any better. I just kept hearing the Kaboom!

Yes...the odds of something like that would be quite high to happen again. Sometimes those freak things just make you stop a little afterwards and wonder if the part was defective or was there something that caused it and how could this be prevented.

I've decided to have coffee now, instead of the shower.

At the moment, I am trying to figure out how to revive my PC and transfer some things off of it. I woke up to the dreadful blue screen today! (((Sigh)))

Wow Leelai. Thank goodness you are okay. Glass is such a fragile substance. We get too complacent about the materials surrounding us. Don't cut yourself when cleaning it up. Are you going to replace it or get something else?

Never really understood blue screens.....my laptop used to get them every other month....lasted another 2 years from when they started. Good luck!

I'm glad you're all right, leelai. I've never even heard of that happening. Are you going to replace the glass, or go with a curtain? I've yet to hear of an exploding shower curtain.

I'm glad nothing happened to you, leelai. That's a wonderful shower you have.
Skimonkeys' is also beautiful.
My shower has glass as well, on two sides. I wouldn't change that, I like it. Curtains are cheaper, but they stick on you when you start showering. :-(
