What's new

What are you guys doing right NOW??? ;)

Love Asian markets with all their unusual goods, although I grew up with a lot of it, I still do find some quite bizarre items. I wouldn't like that music blaring either, there's a time and place for everything and that ain't it! ;)

Yes, once I rounded the snacks aisle at one and there was a whole unbutchered hog in the middle of an aisle, waiting to be pushed into the meat section, presumably.

I sometimes buy gag gifts at the Asian stores, stuff like hair dye with a brand name like Squid Ink (because what Asian wouldn't want hair the color of squid ink?). Lol.

After the Asian store, we went to Whole Foods (an American yuppie market), where they have aisles full of stuff like handmade soap and organic cleaning products, and an olive bar. Talk about contrasts, lol.

I had to go to Whole Foods because I developed a craving after hearing about your fondue. They have good cheeses, bread, etc. So now I'm working up an appetite for fondue, after a Chinese dinner.

At Whole Foods, I got gruyere and emmentaler, and my favorite bread for a savory fondue. And I got bittersweet chocolate, strawberries, raspberries, crystallized ginger and biscotti for a sweet fondue. Just need to get hungry now, lol.

Not that I'm aware of, the norm used to be around four weeks plus Bank Holidays but now it seems to be five to six weeks plus Bank Holidays.

The Archangel

Yes, plus where I worked we had flexitime. It was great - I enjoyed my 1 day off in 5 weeks.

This eclipse image was uploaded today to NASA HD. It's breathtaking. (Oh - to qualify the post - right now I'm browsing amazing images via the free NASA HD app.) :)

The eclipse was photographed at Ellis Beach, located between Cairns and Port Douglas, Queensland.
The image was taken by astronomer / photographer Alex Cherney. I contacted Mr. Cherney by email and received permission to post this copyrighted image on iPF.

That's a superb photo. I must check out Alex Cherney's portfolio.

Thinking of Mickey Mouse and how he has touched so many people's lives!

Happy birthday, Mickey Mouse!

Here is a paper weight I bought from Disney years ago. It is Steamboat Willie, Mickey's first movie with sound--debuted, November 18, 1928.

Cheers for Mickey.

If we get him an outfit as a present, he can wear the bottoms and Donald Duck can wear the top, since Donald doesn't seem to wear pants and Mickey seems to usually wear no shirt, lol.

I think that Mickey would like that and so would Donald Duck. Never seen Donald with pants, would be kind of funny! :)

They have one for brides as well.

Ron and I thought for a moment to have our wedding down at Disney at the wedding chapel, but didn't work out since I was the last in my family to get marred and would have been hard for a destination wedding for all to come. Would have been great, though!
