Love Asian markets with all their unusual goods, although I grew up with a lot of it, I still do find some quite bizarre items. I wouldn't like that music blaring either, there's a time and place for everything and that ain't it!![]()
Yes, once I rounded the snacks aisle at one and there was a whole unbutchered hog in the middle of an aisle, waiting to be pushed into the meat section, presumably.
I sometimes buy gag gifts at the Asian stores, stuff like hair dye with a brand name like Squid Ink (because what Asian wouldn't want hair the color of squid ink?). Lol.
After the Asian store, we went to Whole Foods (an American yuppie market), where they have aisles full of stuff like handmade soap and organic cleaning products, and an olive bar. Talk about contrasts, lol.
I had to go to Whole Foods because I developed a craving after hearing about your fondue. They have good cheeses, bread, etc. So now I'm working up an appetite for fondue, after a Chinese dinner.
At Whole Foods, I got gruyere and emmentaler, and my favorite bread for a savory fondue. And I got bittersweet chocolate, strawberries, raspberries, crystallized ginger and biscotti for a sweet fondue. Just need to get hungry now, lol.
