His morning I received an email from me to me but it was apple saying my Apple ID was used to purchase world war z and if you initiated this download do nothing if not click here....there was more to it but basically that's what it was. Though it was strange that it stated it was sent by me when I click on the sent name me to show the information it give all my info- obviously I did not click on anything because I'm sure it malware of some kind. And I did not purchase the app

What you received is a phishing email, designed to steal your Apple ID and password. If you had followed the instructions in that email some thief would now be in possession of all your account details and you would have seen large charges to your credit card account in very short order. Apple will never ask you to follow a link in an email in order to verify your account information. Apple will not address you as Apple customer, but will use your real name or your Apple ID.

Here's an Apple tutorial on identifying fraudulent emails purporting to come from Apple. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4933

Here's also another thread with a similar case. There are a few tell-tale signs that you can check for when it comes to sensitive information such as your AppleID credentials.

Apple generates emails and or text messages to the original owner of any new device. This is part of the security system to protect you the owner from fraud and or registering a stolen device. Apple is not a kindergarten company they provide the best security for YOU the user to help make the experience in using iOS devices a happy one... In other words it works.
